phew. its been a while

NOTE: This one is for Beckie because I miss her.

well I've been trying for weeks to upload photos from skiing and I just haven't been successful, so I guess that I will just write my update. Its funny, my feels about Spain occillate so much. One minute I am completely in love, another minute I am counting down the days until I come home. I will start with the weekend in Granada first.

So we went to Granada. Phew. I can't even remember how many weekends ago now. Three, I think? okay I just checked on facebook, four weeks ago! man time flies! Skiing was a wonderful experience. I had really thought skiing was something  I wouldn't ever do. The vacation of choice for my family is the beach, and why shouldn't it be? In our time off we like to lounge around with all you can eat buffets, getting lots of sun. I wouldn;t go as far as to say that I am an expert skier, but I can manage while enjoying it. The first day was funny because I went down the slopes quickly at first. Then Maria the daughter and I had lessons and I found out that my skill level was actually very low and struggled the rest of the day. On the night of the first day, I decided I was not going to ski the next day, I was tired, my feet hurt and I wasn't very good. But Maria the daughter ended up not going the second day and they had already paid for everything, so I went because I didnt want it to be wasted. And man, I am glad I went the second day. I prayed all day. I mean all day. I prayed for courage to go down and for God's assistance on not falling as much as I did the first day. I was much relieved to find my prayers answered because I did so much better the second day. I made it down medium hard courses and only fell a few times (unfortunately during those few times I got pretty darn bruised, Ill attach photos when I can). All in all it was one of the best experiences here in Spain. To get the full effect, look up pictures of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Granada Spain. We stayed at the Maribel Hotel. IT is so quiant, like something out of a movie. The second day was Sunday, so we came home and rested.

Since Granada, things have gone through periods of quietness and excitement (if you can call it that). Since I cannot remember the weeks very well,we'll just say some other weekend. So during some other weekend since Granada, I had my hairpulled. I know reading this you're probably jealous. Another experience I could only get in Spain (I mean I hope it isnt repeated, once was enough). I was up on my terrance with Pedro, it was 1:30 am. I'd had a drink so I was relaxed. And my spanish terrace neighbor decided to yell and me and pull my hair. Theres a lot more to the store, more than I care to share right now, but needless to day, it was an experience. It didn't really hurt, I wasn't hurt from the encounter, so I just get to laugh that it happened.

Nothing else too exciting has happened. I work alot during the day. Hang out with the children when they get home from school. Oh yeah Ive also been sick, so I got the experience of going to a spanish doctor. And the most amazing part of that is that I didn't pay anything. I was there maybe an hour and got the presciption that I needed and that was all. Very easy. I was suprised. We did go at 9 am in the morning, so it was like there should be a lot of people, but still. I still don't know much spanish, but I get around fine.

I almost forgot, I went to a dinner party that Pedro the dad hosted in an old house in the middle of the downtown. It was old and huge and one of the coolest places I've been. While there I danced the Sevillana (I think thats how it spelled). Its a type of flamenco dance. I wasn't very good, but it was really fun. The people there were very nice and I throughly enjoyed that night. Also the dinner was complete with a three course meal that ended with vanilla and chocolate gelato covered in a nice strawberry sauce.

Oh ya, I am also going to Roma on April 19th to see my friend Dub. I am very excited for this. I have book my flight and my hostel stay (another completely european experience). So to conclude, I am sorry that I have not updated in four weeks and I hope to put photos up soon.

Ciao!
